Catalogue E1405
For Gram positive bacteria lysis.
The Kit contains:
- 1 vial with 200 mg of HIGHWAY lyophilized Lysozyme (E1405)
IN VITRO RESEARCH USE
Purified Lysozyme from chicken egg white is used to hydrolyze peptidoglycan in bacteria cell walls, with Gram positive bacteria being more susceptible than Gram negative bacteria.
It has a specific activity of approximately 50,000 U/mg protein. 1 U is defined as the enzyme quantity which produces the reduction in absorbance to 450 nm in 0,001 per minute in 6,24 pH at 25°C (Micrococcus lysodeikticus as substrate).
The enzyme is active in a broad pH range (6.0 a 9.0).
A solution of 10 mg/ml in 10 mM Tris-HCl pH: 8,0 or in bidistilled sterile water is recommended.
This product is transported with cooling gels. Once received, keep at 4°C. For longer periods of time, -20°C is recommended.
